With a 62 vote support team, the 2009 budget has passed Congress and will be put to President Obama for a signature.
There were 11 total crossover votes in the Senate - 3 Ds that gave it up: Bayh, McCaskill, and Feingold. Not sure what to make of that: a conservative, a moderate, and a liberal Democrat.
Meanwhile, 8 GOPers crossed over: Richard Shelby, Snowe (but not Collins), Cochran and Wicker in Mississippi, Kit Bond, Arlen Specter, Lamar Alexander, and Lisa Murkowski.
Lieberman and Sanders both supported the bill.
With the whole earmark mess, five senators refused all earmarks:
Sens. Tom Coburn, R-Oklahoma; Jim DeMint, R-South Carolina; Russ Feingold, D-Wisconsin; John McCain, R-Arizona; and Claire McCaskill, D-Missouri.
All five voted against the bill.
